2-Ingredient Homemade Cleaners
We are big fans of green cleaning solvents here at All Kleen. That’s why we use them to deep clean your home. Sometimes the best cleaning solvents use the most simple ingredients. Here are several two ingredient green homemade cleaners that you can use to get your home sparkling.
Dish Soap and Baking Soda
Give your dish soap a little extra oomph on hard to scrub dishes. Sprinkle some baking soda over the dish soap to add some scrubbing action to your soap.
Ketchup and Salt
Over time copper items take on a dull and tarnished façade. Fix up your tarnished copper with a simple mix of ketchup and simple table salt. Grab a clean cloth and squirt a bit of ketchup on and then sprinkle on some salt. Rub this over your tarnished copper until every area is coated. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse off revealing a new shiny surface.
Lemon and Salt
Lemon and salt make a great laundry stain fighting team. You can even use it on delicate and older fabrics. Mix lemon juice and salt together and then apply to the stain and let it go to work for about 30 minutes, then rinse it with a bit of warm water and white vinegar and wash as you would normally do.
Dish Soap and Seltzer Water
If you have some jewelry that has lost its sparkle give it a clean with some dish soap and seltzer. Grab a bowl pour in some seltzer and a few drops of dish soap. Drop your jewelry in and let it soak for about five minutes. Pull your jewelry out of the bowl and gently scrub with a soft toothbrush to get any stuck on gunk. The seltzer bubbles loosen dirt and the soap brings back the shine.
Vinegar and Baking Soda
Unclog a plugged up or slow flowing drain with a bit of vinegar and baking soda. First pour half a cup of baking soda into the drain and then a half cup of regular white vinegar. Be prepared for it to look like a middle school science fair volcano. To prevent a large mess cover the drain with a wet cloth and let the baking soda and vinegar do work for five minutes then flush it out with very hot water.
Add Baking Soda to Liquid Laundry Soap
Brighten up those clothes just a bit more by adding some baking soda to your liquid laundry detergent. The baking soda helps to balance out pH levels and get clothes a little cleaner than just detergent alone. Simply add a cup of baking soda to the load before turning on your washer.
Baking Soda and Toothpaste
Get rid of rings left behind on furniture after forgetting to put a coaster under a glass. Mix together equal parts of baking soda and toothpaste to buff rings right out. Gently rub the newly made scrub on the ring with a damp cloth. When the ring is gone simply wipe with a new damp rag to rinse away.
Dish Soap and Water
The best gentle spot treatment solution for your carpet is mild liquid dish soap used for handwashing and warm water. Simply mix one teaspoon of soap into one cup of lukewarm water. If you have a stubborn stain add a bit of vinegar to the mix. Remember to add cleaner to the cloth and not pour it straight in the carpet and always blot working from the outside edges toward the center of the stain, never rub.
