Easy Car Cleaning Tips and Hacks

Removing Crumbs from Crevices

Many a snack or fast food meal is enjoyed during a lengthy car ride. Get those crumbs that pile up in the seams of the seat out by using a toothbrush to loosen followed by the crevice tool of the vacuum

Grab a Microfiber Mitt for Washing

Get a lint-free and scratch-free result from your carwash by using a microfiber mitt. A microfiber mitt also makes washing easier as you don’t have to grip it and it holds more soap and water.

Use a Foam Brush to Dust Vents

Air vents can get pretty yucky and dust-filled over time. Give them a quick and easy dusting with a foam paintbrush from the craft store, or craft section of a store. They work great in the tiny spaces and are very cheap too.

Clean Windows with Baby Wipes

If you’re a mom chances are you know the magic of baby wipes for more than just cleaning diaper messes. Add cleaning car windows to the list of items baby wipes are good for.

Air Freshener fixes Stinky AC

Get rid of the funky smell when you turn on the air conditioner by spraying a little germ killing air freshening spray into the airflow inlet at the base of the windshield. Get rid of the smell and make car rides more pleasant at the same time.

Freshen Musty Upholstery with Baking Soda

Sprinkle some baking soda over cloth covered seats to freshen them up. Let the baking soda sit for about 15 minutes to absorb odors and odor-causing gunk then carefully vacuum away.

Remove Old Bumper Stickers with Hair Dryer

If you have a sticker you no longer love don’t feel you are stuck with it forever. Take out your blow dryer and aim it at the sticker on high heat, the sticker should peel right off after a few seconds.

Use Silicone Cupcake Liners in Cup Holders

Cup holders can retain a lot of dust, crumbs, and drips from splashed drinks. It can be a pain to get into the “corners” and clean every bit out. Make cleaning cup holders easier by lining them with reusable silicone cupcake liners. When the liners get yucky just pull them out and wash them like dishes, then replace.
